KU holds workshop on scientific writing

KARACHI, International Centre for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS), Karachi University (KU) organized a workshop on How to Write Scientific Manuscripts for High Impact Journals? Virtual Education Project Pakistan (VEPP) also worked together in the organization of the national event, held at the Auditorium of ICCBS.

More than 250 participants attended the workshop from several Universities and Institutions from Karachi and more than 100 participants from remote locations of Pakistan. The one of the most important aims of the workshop was to raise awareness about the importance of publishing manuscripts in high impact factor journals. It was a half a day workshop in which students/faculty/ researchers have participated across the country. The names of universities that were connected with workshop through video conferencing facility includes ARID Agriculture Rawalpindi, AIOU Islamabad, BUETK Khuzdar, HEJ Research Institute of Chemistry - Karachi University, Lasbela Uthal, NED Karachi, SALU Khairpur, UOB Quetta, VU Lahore. Director ICCBS Prof. Dr. Mohammad Iqbal Choudhary alongwith Dr. Hina Siddiqui conducted the workshop. Prof. Dr. Mohammad Iqbal Choudhary delivered a comprehensive lecture on how to write scientific manuscripts for high impact factor journals, and gave participants a firsthand knowledge of the trade. Dr. Hina Siddiqui delivered a tutorial on bibliographic managing software named EndNote (version X5) followed by extensive practical exercises on writing scientific research articles. The workshop was free for all participants.
