365Indonesia Day 16, The Silence of the uninhabited Pombo Island

Wohoooo guys!

our next destination is this beautiful uninhabited island, Pombo Island. Pombo Island lies near the eastern part of Ambon Island ( 5 km far from Ambon), and its a small island. it wont take more than two hours to explore the whole island.

Pombo Island has been classified as natural reserve and marine park. there are several species of plants that have been grown there. the island is also known as the haven of the unique Pombo birds.

if you like to dive or snorkel, you can do that here. many beautiful species live underwater, such as coral reefs, fish, and others. it will also be a perfect place for biologists who want to do some research.

the local government has been concerned with the island and makes it one of the most important conserved island in the Moluccas Province. it is prohibited to permanently stay there, but it is more than okay to spend one or two more days in the island, just to enjoy the view and the beauty of silence.
