NATO supply temporarily halted after tanker blast

Landikotal: After the deadly tanker blast that claimed 15 lives here last night, political administration suspended NATO supply through Khyber Pass temporarily here on Saturday, which would be resumed one day later, sources said. A NATO supply oil tanker was hit by explosive device detonated on Landikotal bypass near Degree College which slightly damaged the oil tanker, but later at 2 am at night the youngsters of the nearby villages rushed to the oil tanker to take out oil from the oil tanker in big pots when the tanker burst into a big blast that killed fifteen tribal youngsters of Khuga Khel Shinwari tribe. Ten of the killed guys belonged to one family. In the blast two rooms of the school, two electricity transformers and furniture were destroyed. A vehicle of the oil tanker owner was also gutted in the blast which caught fire and turned into ashes. The funeral prayer of the deceased was collectively offered in the high school ground which was largely attended by the local tribesmen. Haji Hukhyar Shinwari condemned NATO supply going through their villages route. He asked the authorities to change the route of the NATO supplies otherwise they would protest against it because the usual blasts near their villages have posed serious threats to their lives and properties. Azmat Shinwari alleged the administration for not providing security to the truckers on this route.
