Islamabad: Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani says joint strategy to monitor cross-border movement at Western borders will greatly help check infiltration of undesirable elements damaging efforts to bring about peace and stability in the region. Pakistan desires success of Afghan-owned reconciliation peace process which would positively impact security environment, he said Tuesday while talking to Defence Minister Ch Ahmad Mukhtar at PM Secretariat who briefed on recent developments of security situation on Western borders. Gilani said government will continue to support and help armed forces face security challenges confronting the nation. Mukhtar apprised on upgrading defence and military installations as well as efforts to curb militancy.
