India ready to host Pakistan's Foreign Minister next month
Islamabad, India Friday conveyed to Pakistan that it was looking forward to hosting Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Ms Hina Rabbani Khar for talks in New Delhi next month.
This was conveyed by Indian Foreign Secretary Ms Nirupama Rao when she called on Ms Khar in Islamabad today. Ms Rao conveyed to Ms Khar greetings of Indian External Affairs Minister S. M. Krishna and "reiterated that the government of India looks forward to the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs' visit to New Delhi next month", Foreign Office spokesperson Tehmina Janjua said. Ms Khar underlined "importance that Pakistan attaches to ongoing dialogue process and to improvement of Pakistan-India relations." Rao is in Islamabad for two-day talks with her Pakistani counterpart Salman Bashir that aim at setting the stage for meeting between foreign ministers of the two countries in July at New Delhi.
