SEWF inaugurated at KU
Karachi: The Director and Faculty members of Centre of Excellence for Womens Studies, University of Karachi, in collaboration with representatives of Anjuman Tarraqi Niswan and Honorable Asif Hasnain, MNA, inaugurated the Self-Employed Womens Fund (SEWF) in Landhi area on Saturday.
Home based women workers of that area were granted loans of Rs.10,000 to support and increase their businesses. Asif Hasnain stated that these grants of easy terms and conditions would help in improving the condition of women and their families. Prof. Dr. Nasreen Aslam Shah said all of us want to see these home based women workers as successful members of the society and as a symbol to be followed by other women of Pakistan. On the occasion Nasim Bano, representative of Home based women workers, expressed gratitude to all the institutions and said that Insh Allah they will utilize this easy loan facility to improve their businesses and will return their loans on time.
