Afghan Blast Kills 9

Afghan officials say a suicide car bomb has killed at least nine people and wounded about 30 others in the eastern city of Khost.

The police chief of Khost province says at least two police officers died in the Friday morning blast that targeted a police station.

Also on Friday, NATO says one of its service members died following a bomb blast in southern Afghanistan.

Another NATO member was killed in an insurgent attack Thursday in the east.

NATO has not released the nationality of the soldiers.
