Varsity employees observe pen-down strike, stage demo

Hyderabad: The employees of Mehran University, Sindh University, Liaquat Medical University, Quaid-e-Awam University, Sindh Agriculture University and Shah Aabdul Latif University observed pen-down strike and staged demonstrations at Jamshoro, Hyderabad, Tando Jam, Nawabshah and Khairpur on Monday. The strike was observed on the call of All Sindh Universities Employees Union to press the government for acceptance of their demands. At Hyderabad Press Club, Pir Bux, Shehryar Rajput, Nazar qureshi and other leaders addressed the demonstrators and demanded increase in medical allowance, regularization of ad hoc employees and restoring son-quota. They warned of hunger strike unto death at Garhi Khuda Bux if their demands were not met.
