Power shortfall mounts to 6,000 MW
ISLAMABAD: The power shortfall of the country has mounted to 6,000 megawatts amid growing demand for hot summer weather, on Sunday. Owing to the hot summer weather the electricity demand across the country has risen to 16,000 megawatts daily. According to the Pakistan Electric Power Company (PEPCO), the total current power generation in the country is 10,075 megawatts while the demand for the electricity has climbed to 16,067 megawatts per day. The sufferings of business activities and people have increased to an alarming level as the huge short fall of the electricity is being controlled by long and constant load shedding in the country.
