In some areas there is no water even for toilet use, complain citizens. In the posh area of Gulistan-e-Johar situation is almost the same and people are left with no option but to buy water from tanker mafia that charge rates as per their sweet will. It is observed that a nexus of corrupt employees of Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KWSB) and the water tanker mafia. Citizens have staged many protest demos against the water shortage but to no avail. The tense situation might lead to outbreak of water riots in the area if adequate potable water is not provided to them on urgent basis. The citizens demand of the managing director of KWS&B and other concerned authorities to take notice of the grim situation and provide these dry areas, water as per their actual needs.
