Aftershock follows strong quake in Indonesia
JAKARTA, April 25 (Xinhua) -- An aftershock with the magnitude of 5.2 jolted the eastern part of Indonesia on Monday, the Meteorology and Geophysics Agency reported here.
The shock struck at 06:25 a.m. Jakarta time Monday (2325 GMT Monday) with the epicenter at 16 km southeast Kendari of Southeast Sulawesi and a depth of 20 km underland, an official of the agency Derajat Ngatmanto told Xinhua by phone.
A mainshock of 6.0 magnitude struck off eastern parts of Indonesia on Monday, he said.
The quake hit at 06:06 a.m Jakarta time Monday (2306 GMT Sunday) with the epicenter at 55 km southeast Kendari of Southeast Sulawesi and a depth of 18 km, the official said.
No tsunami warning was issued after the quake. And there has been no report of damage or casualty so far. (Xinhua)
