10,000 houses for rain victims

Nawabshah, Sindh, \On the directives of President Zardari, at least ten thousand houses for rain victims will be constructed throughout the district, said Zia ul Hasan, Coordinator of MNA Faryal Talpur, while talking to media at the Press Club here Tuesday.

He also gave a cheque of Rs. 500,000 to the President Nawabshah Press Club. Zia said no longer emergency situation exists in District Benazirabads and the rehabilitation of rain victims is being carried out. He also said that with the efforts of Pak Navy, some 490 persons were rescued. Furthermore he said that UNO and WHO are active in relief activities throughout the district. He informed that so far, under the World Food Programme, 3500 bags of ration have ben distributed among the affected people. Lauding MNA Faryal Talpurs efforts for rain hit people, Zia said since the inundation of Nawabshah was on the cards, Faryals timely move to direct the construction of at least 3 embankments paid off besides her decision to establish Emergency Centre at Zardari House was also laudable, he added.
