Fatima Bhutto to attend literary festival in Kerala, India

Thiruvananthapuram: Fatima Bhutto, granddaughter of former Pakistan Prime Minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, would be among eminent writers slated to attend the two-day Kovalam Literary Festival (KLF) starting on October 1. Fatima, an accomplished poet and writer, will deliver the 6th annual K C Johan memorial lecture at the event considered one of the biggest celebrations of books, writers and book lovers in the city. Apart from Fatima, other literary figures at the festival are Pakistan writer Mohammed Hanif, Israeli literary stalwarts Savyon Liebrecht and Motti Lerner and Sri Lankan author Sheshan Karunatileka. They would be joined by contemporary Indian writers like David Davidar, Anuradha Roy, Ashwin Sanghi, Rahul Pandita, Suresh Menon and Basharat Peer. "Besides being the first and foremost literary event of Kerala, LKF has now grown as India's second biggest literary festival", said Binoo K Johan, author of 'Last Song of Savio de Zouza', and the founder-director of KLF.
