Reception for women journalists

Karachi: Women and Family Commission Sindh hosted a reception in hour on women journalists here Wednesday. Dr Sameea Raheel Qazi, president Women and Family Commission Pakistan speaking on the occasion said media is playing a vital role in exposing corruption and mismanagement of sitting rulers. She urged the female journalists to play their due role in upholding truth and struggle for the rights of people, especially women. A large number of women journalists attended the reception. JI Women Wing leaders Afshan Naveed, Raana Fazal and ex-PMA Kulsoom Nizamani were also present.

An Ateneo faculty member won in the Filipino division, while a San Diego-based writer got the award in English, the Palanca awards organizers announced Thursday.
